Shiny Toy Gun blasts Pete Wentz for "gay" reveal

"It's quite exploitative," keyboardist/bassist Jeremy Dawson of electro-rock outfit Shiny Toy Guns told Gay.com about fellow musician Pete Wentz (pictured above)'s decision to come out as a make-out queen in recent press interviews. 

"He is married [to Ashley Simpson] and has a baby on the way, and this is a thing that shouldn't be exploited," he added about the Fall Out Boy front man. "It's not fair to say, 'Look what I did,' when so much shit happens to people for being who they are... and I say, 'I kissed a boy,' and get cool points for that?   Not to be ultra-sensitive, but there are people who get baseball bats to the head for being who they are, and I say, 'Oh yeah, I kissed a boy, too?' My choice is I wouldn't exploit it as a cute thing. I wouldn't go out and say it, because it seems disrespectful to the gay community. It's a trend right now and a little disrespectful."
