Rihanna Suffers "Horrific" Injuries After Attack
Every time I read an update about Rihanna my blood boils. I just don't get how any guy could beat up on a girl.
As you have likely heard, Rihanna, 20, was knocked around during an argument that occurred in the wee hours of the morning this past Sunday in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles. Her assailant is alleged to be her 19-year-old boyfriend Chris Brown, and Rihanna is cooperating with Los Angeles police, who are working to build a domestic case abuse against him, according to The Los Angeles Times.
According to a report just issued by TMZ.com, police responding to the scene Sunday described Rihanna's facial injuries, which included major contusions, a split lip and a bloody nose, as "horrific." She also had bite marks on one of her arms and some of her fingers.
While Rihanna was treated for her injuries at a local hospital, Brown, who had fled the scene, later turned himself in to police, was booked on felony criminal threats and released on $50,000 bail. He is scheduled for arraignment the first week of March.
After the incident, both Rihanna and Brown canceled their scheduled appearances at the Grammys that night, and today comes word that Rihanna has postponed concerts scheduled in Malaysia this week and her 21st birthday party, which was slated for February 20 in New York City.
Here's hoping that Rihanna makes a full and speedy recovery and that Brown is now her ex-boyfriend.
If you could talk to Rihanna, what would you say to her?

i am a massive rihanna fan and i was devastated and sickened to hear what happened. chris brown needs to be put to justice properly. i hope she is ok and gets back to what she does best and stays away from chris.
Posted by: adam lee | February 10, 2009 at 01:44 PM
They are both at fault. Rihanna should have told him in the beginning of the relashinship, but Chris Brown had no right to attack her.

I really strikes me in a shameful way that anyone could do this to women weather or not its an SuperStart, or just an average girl in the neighborhood. I grew up seeing this Abuse (step father) in my own home as a child. NOBODY need to be bullied (manhandled)around no matter how mad you are. We need to handle things in adult mannor regaurdless. I believe in cool down time and and speaking to each other in an adult thing to do. Correct the issue, and if the issue can not be fixed YOU should not see a further with that person.

Gee - I wonder who hit who first? I'm betting she hauled off and slapped him and didn't expect to get hit back - welcome to equality ladies - start a fight, lose a tooth

RIHANNA,
We all love you! Please get better, don't let this jerk or any jerk do anything to you again.
Not to sound corny, but as a quote from your own music...
"Please don't stop, please don't stop, please don't stop...please don't stop the music......"
Posted by: Robert | February 10, 2009 at 02:42 PM
There is no excuse for violence and I hope he gets what he deserves and Rhianna has the brains to move on without Chris.... Also to the idiot Nobama at the top of this list who thinks this is a laughing matter you need to grow up and learn some compassion what an ignorant person you must be....
Posted by: Greg | February 10, 2009 at 02:53 PM
love rhianna and no matter what happens a man shouldh't hit a woman and she is definitely that. hope she heals and becomes bigger than ever. we all love you Im "disturbia" about this
Posted by: matt | February 10, 2009 at 02:57 PM
hey i don't think it,'s right what chris did to you because on the tyra banks show he had said quote''i would NEVER put someone i love through what my momm went through''.
Posted by: victoria gomez | February 10, 2009 at 03:03 PM
no one has the right to be violent towards any other regardless of gender. i hope Rihanna makes a full recovery and takes time from her schedule to heal both emotionally and physically. i hope that chris faces full penalties, but also gets help; people don't just beat up their loved ones for no reason.
Posted by: concerned fan | February 10, 2009 at 03:12 PM
wtf umm i think she got what she deserved
im not saying that chris brow shudda hit her or what not
but rihanne probably provoked him to do so
shes an ass
and i really DNT LIKE HER

get rid of the pig for sure
Posted by: jerry | February 10, 2009 at 03:47 PM
Dang, what is wrong with some of you people... Nobody deserves to get beat, regardless. I wonder if some of you would think the same thing, if this had been your sister. I am amazed at times to the callousness of people.
Posted by: Ren | February 10, 2009 at 03:56 PM
We dont know the whole story yet. How do we know that she didnt hit him or say something offensive?
I know you cant justify what was done but there are people out there who say silly things to people and dont think before they speak and pisses someone off, and I bet they were both drunk off their asses!
Let the truth reveal itself
Posted by: Joey | February 10, 2009 at 04:03 PM
No one schould ever be hit period!no matter who you are. a person schould never raise there voice to anyone.thats also abuse.if you love someone you treat them good not bad!its about respect.
Posted by: roger | February 10, 2009 at 04:03 PM
I think everyone here needs to think what would happen if this happened to them before making comments about it...starting from the top...whether than can or can't sing nobody should be put through this and down to the whoever talking about women's equality there is a difference between a woman hitting a man and a man hitting a woman if she hit him he should have been the bigger man and got out. Like it or not most men are stronger than most women she did not deserve to be hit repeatedly and bit like that...NOBODY DOES...quit with the joking this isn't a joke it's a serious matter...And get well soon Rihanna we love you and miss you...Us important ones that is!
Posted by: Curtis | February 10, 2009 at 04:06 PM
Hmm, NObama. Boy that was such a clever slogan for the small minded republican party. They might as well had made a bumper sticker stating "Ruffles have ridges".
And yes, domestic violence is hysterical. Everyone should beat a spouse daily, then go out shoot shot guns and drive pick up trucks.
No, Rihanna can't sing, she's only sold millions of albums and apparently has more money then you spend on your education.
The day will be good when small minded bigots stop using computers and go back to doing their cousins.
Get a clue "NoBama"
BTW, MCCAIN LOST! HA HA HA!

I'm probably one of Rihanna's biggest fans. I think she's a great role model for young people in that she always seems so down to earth and is such a powerful young girl. I think she's also becoming a huge gay icon.
After hearing about this I was honestly digusted at Chris. I was also a fan of his before this but will no longer be purchasing any of his music.
I think to hit anybody in such a vicious animal-like manor is appauling never mind a young 21 year old beaty like Rihanna. It made my stomach turn when I read it.
Rihanna has a great opertunity hear, if she ditches Brown (as she should out of respect for herself) people will have a whole new respect for her. She could become the next Tina Turner like icon. Hopefully it will isnpire her to write music about being strong and getting through difficult times like this. This could really inspire her fans who would be victims suffering from domestic abuse.
The example that Chris who is only 19 is setting for his male fans is unacceptable and he should loose his recording contracts immediately and fade away into society.
This is RiRi's time to shine.
Love ya Rihanna!

I bet what happened was she hit him first and Chris (being from the ghetto) hit her back. She being a girl prob felt she could hit him and he'd walk away.
I always feel its wrong to hit another individual BUT I recall when Britney Spears infamously performed "Gimme More" and they panned to Rihanna and she was laughing at Britney. Karma is a b*tch.
Again I feel bad she got hit but maybe it's def karma at work here.
Posted by: David | February 10, 2009 at 04:30 PM
Well even if you started it - you didnt deserve it.
Now you know better.
It's a shitty lesson to learn.
But at least you didnt get murdered like so many women do.
Have some friends handle it.
I already know.
I'm sure he's got a few ass whippins' commin.
Fuck him.

It is sad that this has occured and I am pissed off by some of the people's negative opinions and remarks. It would be nice to join any one of you in the boxing ring!!!! Karma says that what goes around comes around.... Just be thankful that it has not happened to you or someone close to you...

Rihanna finally got what was coming to her. She laughed at Britney Spears at the last Grammy's and now Rihannaslut's face is a bit disfigured. Bet our Brit is laughing back at that slut Rihannaject. Too bad that black dude didnt bite her fucking upper lip off so she cant laugh at other female star's misfortunes. JUSTICE HAS BEEN DONE - THANK YOU, CHRIS!!
Posted by: Dan | February 10, 2009 at 05:32 PM
Not everybody thinks you are beautiful Rihanna. You were downright ugly when you laughed at Britney Spears unfortunate act when you were in the audience at one of last Grammy shows. Now you have a face to prove it, thanks to your badass boyfriend. Maybe your disfigured face will match you ugliness inside. Yeha, retribution is sweet. And it cost you your Grammy performance. HA HA HA and HA!! You got yo uppity liddle black ass beat up good. Our divine Ms. Spears must be laughing her fucking head off at you. We certainly are!
Posted by: Dan | February 10, 2009 at 05:36 PM
Thank God that we don't have domestic violence in the gay community. Nothing like that would ever happen between two men or two women. Thank you gay.com for focusing on the important GLBT issues.
Posted by: BiffR | February 10, 2009 at 05:51 PM
Law enforcement sources have now gotten specific with us... police took pictures of Rihanna's injuries and they are "horrific."
As we reported, the photos show major contusions on both sides of the singer's face -- there is serious swelling and bruising. Her lip is split and her nose bloody. We have now confirmed there are bite marks on one of her arms and on several fingers.
And we now know this... Rihanna claims Brown struck her with his fists and that's what did the damage. There was no object used in the alleged attack.
Rihanna refused treatment at the scene, but before she left cops took photos. We're told the photos alone are "devastating proof of abuse."
And we've learned it was not Rihanna who called 911. Someone in the area heard her screams and called.

The comment posted by "NObama" (already showing what kind of a piece of sh*t he is) is about as cruel and callous as they come. Have some class you pathetic, insensitive idiot.
As a victim of years of abuse, I find nothing funny about this. All I hope is Rihanna learns from this and ditches that asshole, and never enters into such a relationship again.
As for Chris Brown, his career is over (I hope...). I don't care how popular you are, teenage kids love him, and this is the kind of role model he is? He deserves to be just another Bobby Brown.
I am enraged that anyone would do such a thing.
Posted by: jajuka | February 10, 2009 at 06:07 PM
Little Miss Pretty Black thing may have given herpes to her man. And she openly giggled at Brit Spear's Grammy performance last year. Seems, our Miss Rihanna is actually one skanky ho. Now she is a disfigured skanky ho. Now the bite marks are on you,Miss Bitch.

Seems like Lil Miss Good Girl Gone Bad needs to go good again and stop hanging with the wrong crowd. Go Tina Turner on his ass and clean up your image! Both need to go into Rehab!
Posted by: Duva Sparkles | February 10, 2009 at 06:59 PM
Duva Sparkles how do u know she needs to goto rehab? is she a drunk? no. drug addict? no. The girl got beat up by a man. how can't you all see that. And the reasons why you all have no sympathy is because she is rich and "cant" sing. There are a lot of heartless people out here. And if karma for laughing at someone during a performance is being physically hurt then i don't even want to believe in that bs. I see that there are alot of racist gay ppl on here. I don't think any of us should be judging anyone. I hope u get better riri. Keep making music so these haters will still have a job.
Posted by: rob | February 10, 2009 at 07:47 PM
Am I the only one who doesn't care if she can sing, if she laughed at another singer or if she has herpes? She got beat up people...I'm sure if you got your s(censored) beat out of you you wouldn't want people to point out you made rude remarks on gay.com And you deserved it. Stop being so catty and pathetic. Making fun of an abuse victim just shows your complete lack of intelligence and compassion...And no, I personally don't like Rhianna. But I hope that Chris Brown gets all he has coming to him.
Posted by: Wylde | February 10, 2009 at 08:26 PM
it takes two - remember the girl is often the instigator ! speaking from experience ... she don't look like no angel - go to counselling rather than keep the arguement going!
Posted by: ian | February 10, 2009 at 09:04 PM
Wow, the air of female hatred is blatant in this string of comments. Who cares if she laughed at britney? As I recall, quite a few of you drunken bitter queens were laughing along with her. Besides, Britney at the time had that laughter coming her own damn self. And Herpes? Who the fuck cares! There is never, I repeat, NEVER an excuse to beat a woman. Never. I don't care if she hit him first. A real man *would* walk away. I don't care if she cheated. A real man would tell her to fuck off and leave it at that. I don't care if she gave him an STD. A real man would get tested and move on. Chris Brown is a punk; a little boy in big man's clothing. By striking the woman he claimed to love, he proved exactly what kind of hypocritical piece of shit he really is. I don't believe in the idea that "If she's man enough to throw a punch, she's man enough to take one." If a female is assaulting you, defend yourself sure, but don't beat the everloving fuck out of her. He didn't have any injuries, did he? No. He mercilessly, savagely beat her. Bite marks, people. Bite marks. Those don't just happen from throwing a retaliatory punch. He would have had to restrain her to do that. Her career, image, history and fidelity are no longer an issue in this matter. The simple fact is, Chris Brown comitted felony assault. On a defenseless woman. There's a special place in hell for bastards like that.
And shame on you superficial, bitter, self-absorbed self-righteous faggots for thinking that a savage beating is just deserts for a laugh at an awards show. For all you know, Rihanna's laughter may not have been malicious, or even directed at Britney. Let's face it: Ms. Spears had a poor wardrobe choice, terrible extensions and she zombie'd her way through a sleepwalk choreography routine. The world laughed at her. So is this economic depression america's punishment for laughing at, let's face it, a joke?
It never fails to amaze me how judgemental gay men can be, especially considering how opressed we claim to be. Perhaps that's our punishment for being such vicious bitches then, hm?
I personally would be worried about karma and retribution if I were you catty, cynical, jaded, judgemental hypocrits.
Especially you, "NObama"
Posted by: stepford83 | February 10, 2009 at 09:32 PM
WOW!!! Nobama #1 i'm nobama 2!!!
I agree with you-- she totally deserved it.
and he does too :)
Posted by: NObama2 | February 10, 2009 at 09:42 PM
If I could tell Rihanna one thing, "Leave". Never stick with a man if he hits you. Not even once. You will end up worse that Britney Spears if you do.

I just think it is so strange that neither of them have been seen or heard from since the whole incident happened. I live about 5 miles from Chris Browns house in Montpelier Va, I drove by there to see if anything was going on and he wasnt there yesterday or today but his Range Rover and BMW were parked a few house down at what I have heard is his mothers house. If he is here then it is definitly the place to be to hide from the pazarazi and get away from everything, but I think that each of them should make some statement at the matter or at least let us know what really happened, with all the rumors swirling I know I would want the air cleared, best luck to a quick recovery for Rihanna!
Posted by: Trip | February 10, 2009 at 10:13 PM
When i first heard about this story i was like no way its got to be a fake story but apparily its not which sucks cause i wouldn't think chris brown would do such a thing like that, i am a big fan of both of there music and i wish them best of luck.
Brandon
Posted by: brandon | February 10, 2009 at 10:20 PM
Ha ha. I guess when two high pitched nasally people finally had their ears clean they hear things they usually can't. Whatever, she deserves to be beaten. If she's done something wrong in the relationship it's her fault. Hello, ever heard of feminism? She could've hit Chris Brown back. Actually, if she did then that'd be the better Batter Women case. Neither can sing. They deserve what they got.
Posted by: Tom | February 10, 2009 at 10:33 PM
WOW--"DJ" (under which name you post), you couldn't sound more ignorant and misogynistic.
(1) How do you know that Rihanna slapped Brown first?? There is not even a sprig of evidence in the above report to suggest that she did so. You merely speculate based on some insecure fantasy about ungrateful women. Why are you even on gay.com?? You sound like some straight woman-beating thug. Maybe you're "straight-acting". Ha.
(2) Just because somebody hits another person doesn't mean they deserve retribution. It doesn't make sense to say that if I hit somebody, they should hit me back. The other person should be noble enough not to hit me back. The exception is if I need to hit them back to defend myself. Simple enough, isn't it?
Come one. The only information you have is that SHE got a split lip and bloody nose--NOT that HE did.
Posted by: Rogue Linguist | February 11, 2009 at 12:02 AM
I think that this is actually quite sad. however, they may be celebrities and look all fancy, but they're still human. We all make mistakes, but this case should be solved quickly and efficiently before any other shit happens. you guys shouldn't put all the blame on chris, you guys absolutely do not know what happened, so don't assume like you know. rihanna could've done something, you don't know yet. so don't assume and expect yourself to be correct.
what sucks is that abuse like this happens every single day. but when it's a nobody, i don't see the public and the media going all spazzy. However, when it's a celeb, they seem to care. Either you people don't care at all, or you guys just really like to hear about celeb mistakes.
I wonder why people don't care about nobodies, but only care about the big stars and bullshit.

Posted by: Antonia | February 11, 2009 at 02:20 AM
Wow. I think the tragedy here is the ignorance I just read. I don't remember reading in the gay handbook that it was OK to pass judgment on others. I laugh at the ignorant fucks on here as you will see that you live a life of hatred, bitterness, and pure stupidity. I've never been so let down by GLBT's before. Aren't we supposed to be role model's in a sense? To show the hardships that we have faced as gay and lesbians? To help people learn from what we have endured? Let the story come out and the truth be told before you pass judgment AND when the truth comes out PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK. Good luck Rihanna AND Chris. Learn from the past and move forward!
Posted by: Jamie T | February 11, 2009 at 02:46 AM
Oh please! I look at all these comments and it just sickens me to think that this is what gay men care about. We're not "all" talking about it. It does not dominate my thinking. Am I sorry that it happened to anyone? Of course. Does it rank up there with the state of the economy, deprevation in Darfur, violence in the Middle East, global warming, the loss of homes and jobs? Uhhh... no. Develop a little perspective about the real world people.

"Please don't stop the violence."
Her music sucks. I could care less what happens to her. Just get her off the radio.

Chris comes from a family where his step dad hit his mum .. he is actually quoted saying he used to be terrified to the point of pee'ing on himself because he was that scared. WHY would he want to do that to someone he loves when he's seen someone else he loves go through that pain. ?!. I think that they've had an altercation in the car, shes went to hit him, hes grabbed her to stop her but somehow they've ended up hurting each other in some way. I dont believe for one minute the "broken nose" "two huge contusions" thing .. ill wait until theres picture proof and RiRi tells her story.

I think that Chris Brown
is Shaddy for doing that.
I mean he attended the
Tyra Banks show saying that
he would NEVER hit a girl
from his experience of watching
his mother getting beaten
from his stepdad. Well it
looks to me that YOUR JUST
LIKE YOUR STEPFATHER.you
can run. but you can't hide.
you have a hategroup. alot
of kids looked up to you.
that has changed. and rihanna
always did deserve someone better.
i never did like brown.
hopes rihanna get better.
and Rihanna...next time.
GO GHETTO ON HIM:))

chris, she will be the best girl u ever had and biggest regret. first things first you need some councelling cus you may have issues that you were'nt aware of.second you need to apologise to your fans and your mother, cus if what is said is true then u just told your mother that what happend to her can be justified...dam shame aint it
