The Prodigy Invade!

The ProdigyMOVE!’ is the first word I hear while taking pictures.  The concert has barely begun and security is already preparing for a crowd surfing dump into our media pit.  Luckily, the concert-goer is returned to his feet so he can enjoy the performance instead of being roughly escorted back into the Kool Haus sidelines.  Oh yes, ‘The Prodigy’ have invaded Toronto!

Tupac, Kanye and Elton, Together Forever

Elton John Ever hear a new song - say, Flo Rida's latest stripper anthem "Right Round" - and swear it sounds familiar? There's a reason why: A good chunk of the music today actually uses a sample, or a snippet of a previously done song. "Right Round" might be kind of obvious, as it apes Dead Or Alive's '80s camp classic "You Spin Me Round", but other songs hide their samples well. Radio sounds the same today because, well, a lot of it is based on the same songs as yesterday.

The Phone From Mother Earth

Hearing "eco-friendly technology" can bring up images of butt-ugly cars or underpowered computers. I mean, the sacrifice has to come from somewhere, right?

MOTORenew That said, the MOTO Renew is the first phone to actually worth considering. And, believe it or not, it is made out of 100% recycled materials.

MOTO Renew is definitely retro, reminiscent of earlier Motorola or Nokia phones, down to the basic screen and low-grade multimedia capabilities. (No fancy MP3 player on this one!) The green and black shell isn't exactly noteworthy, either. The positives? It has a nice, long battery life, giving nine hours active use - compared to as little as two hours on fancier phones - and the phone itself is created from recycled plastic bottles and other reused materials. And no, you can't tell.

The MOTO Renew is available now for a cheap $59.99. And better yet, T-Mobile is offering a limited-time $50 instant discount, making the phone a cool $9.99.

Get "Dirty" with The Cliks

Theclicks Despite themselves, The Cliks couldn’t help but make a new record that made order and sense out of tumult and turbulence. The Toronto band had a whirlwind past two years since the release of their debut album, "Snakehouse" -- and there’s no sign that they’ll be slowing down anytime soon.

Holed up this past fall at Radio Star Studios in Weed, California,  the band put their emotions, thoughts and talents together to create the evocative, driving and exciting tracks on "Dirty King", their new album dropping June 23rd. Feeling bad never sounded quite so good!

Nintendo Power

Nintendopower From Kanye's sparse "808s and Heartbreaks" to Flo Rida's Dead Or Alive-aping single "Right Round", rap has officially gone back to the eighties.

One creative soul, Jesse Tugboat, decided to take things a step further with an 8-bit hip hop medley. He recreated ten beloved hip-hop songs using Nintendo sound effects. Listen carefully and you'll hear the sounds of Mario, Zelda and other friends of a wasted youth.

Shuffling The Deck

Ipods Once the little darling of the iPod line, the Shuffle has been overshadowed by cooler, equally affordable models like the iPod Touch. A few years ago it got pushed to also ran status, a little cheap clip on you cop for your little niece who has a tendency to break things.

Regardless of public opinion, Apple hasn't forgotten about the Shuffle.

The Prodigy Are Invading!

Prodigy The year was 1990, one of the strongest and most influential years of the east London warehouse party scene.  Within it, an underground society where the stories and experiences were shared between muted whispers, and the only telltale signs of it’s existence outside of the event walls were the bleary eyed and exhausted participants on their way home the morning after.

From this time a brand new performance group emerged from the all night shadow filled euphoric environments – The Prodigy.
